The Goal is to Finish – Aaron Kaufman at 2019 King of the Hammers
During our annual trip to Johnson Valley, CA for the 2019 King of the Hammers (KOH) Race, we had a chance to catch up with our good friend and MagnaFlow Ambassador, Aaron Kaufman. After not finishing last year due to some technical difficulties while racing in the desert, Aaron came into the 2019 event with one goal for his second attempt at the world’s most grueling off-road race; finish the race. Now for anyone familiar with KOH, you’ll know that is easier said than done. The 165-mile course includes off-road racing with speeds reaching over 100mph as well as technical rock crawling sections. As you can imagine, setting up a vehicle that can handle the diverse stages of the race is quite an undertaking. Not to mention the mental preparation involved for the driver, which is a task in and of itself. To add to the complication, Aaron was racing in a Jimmy’s 4x4 chassis which he took possession of only 30 days prior to the event. To hear more about how Aaron and his team prepped for the event, be sure to check out the video!
