Featured Build: Hemi Powered 1969 A108, "Vantasy"
Vans are not usually synonymous with "cool", but Matthew Forst wanted to change that. As a longtime fan of vans, he wanted to make something that would be undeniably eye catching.
Now, with a 1969 Dodge A108 and the Goolsby Customs team, "Vantasy" came to life.
The van's body was left as originally designed as possible but with some enhancements. The Goodsby team took the unibody and based the design off of a one-off Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis, including Penske coilovers, Wilwood brakes, and custom hubcaps. Now for the engine? Goolsby dropped an aluminum-blocked 396 Hemi backed by a Mopar Performance RFE transmission. To pair off the engine, the team created a custom exhaust system with a couple of MagnaFlow performance mufflers to ensure a perfect growl.
To continue the enhancements on the A108, the Goolsby team redefined the body by "sharpening all the lines and gaps, removed all the seams, smoothed and tucked the bumpers, and fabricated/modified window channels and interior trim to make windows pop out.”
The interior of "Vantasy" is a beautiful combination of colors with bark-colored leather and mocha-colored square weave carpet.
